THACO is a comedy by Bill Stiteler about three thirtysomething roleplaying nerds who spend game night waiting for their perpetually late friend to show up. The trio spend the day analysing the effect that fantasy and geekery have altered their lives and never quite getting around to playing the games they enjoy.
THACO was originally presented as a one-act play at the Minnesota Fringe Festival, where it sold out three of its five performances.
In December of 2007, work began on a movie version of THACO. Principle photography wrapped in May of 2008, and the film is being readied for it's premiere at CONvergence on July 6th. In addition to being restructured for video, THACO: the Movie also includes new material and a cameo appearance by Neil Gaiman, along with the original cast of the hit play.
